Automation Engineer

Work pattern:
Hybrid, 50% on site

Rate: up to £400 per day

Duration: 6 months + ext

Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate and deliver application upgrades, migrations and platform refresh activities.
  • Ensure applications remain compliant with vendor support and security requirements.
  • Administer applications deployed on Windows and Linux environments.
  • Troubleshoot application, middleware and infrastructure issues.
  • Maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual operational processes.
  • Develop automation using Power Shell, Bash, Python, Ansible or similar tools.
  • Build CI/CD deployment pipelines.
  • Promote Infrastructure as Code and Dev Ops best practices.
Essential Criteria
  • Strong experience administering enterprise applications on both Windows and Linux.
  • Experience delivering applications and platform upgrades in production environments.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using Power Shell, Bash, Python or similar tools.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
  • Experience with application servers, middleware and databases.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience integrating Artifactory, Xray and Sonar Qube into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with application release management, dependency management and repository governance.
  • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining Git Hub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
  • Monitoring and observability tools
