Orvia Underwriting is Ardonagh’s pan-European MGA, currently operating across the UK, Netherlands and Germany, with ambitious plans for further growth. As part of our continued expansion, we are embarking on the implementation of a new Policy Administration System (PAS) that will support the next phase of our underwriting and operational capabilities.
We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst to play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of this programme. Working as part of a dedicated project team and reporting directly to our CTO, you will help deliver the initial UK implementation, covering eight insurance products across a phased 9-12 month programme.
This is an opportunity to work at the heart of a transformational technology project, partnering with underwriting, pricing, operations, finance, data, IT and external technology vendors to shape how insurance products are built, traded and managed.
What You'll Be Doing Requirements & Product DesignCollaborate with underwriting, pricing and data teams to define detailed, build-ready requirements for insurance products.
Design and document risk capture question sets, data structures, validation rules and product workflows.
Ensure all rating models and required data inputs are accurately captured and aligned with pricing requirements.
Define underwriting rules including eligibility criteria, referral triggers, authority limits and declinature logic.
Gather and document policy document generation requirements, including schedules, invoices, policy wordings and lifecycle communications.
Work with finance teams to define premium bordereaux and accounting output requirements.
Act as the key liaison between Orvia stakeholders and the PAS vendor's delivery team.
Clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities and ensure solutions are delivered in line with agreed scope and business needs.
Maintain full requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
Support project planning, sequencing, dependency management and release readiness activities.
Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts across multiple product releases.
Create test plans, coordinate testing activities and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Support business users throughout the testing process to drive high-quality outcomes.
Record, manage and track defects through to resolution and retesting.
Assist with product go-live activities and transition into business-as-usual operations.
Own and maintain project documentation, including requirements, specifications, analysis, decision logs and change history.
Ensure Jira (or equivalent tooling) is used effectively as the single source of truth throughout delivery.
Proven experience as a Business Analyst delivering insurance product build or configuration projects within a Policy Administration System environment.
Strong experience producing structured requirements documentation covering:
Rating structures
Risk capture question sets
Underwriting rules
Policy and document templates
Ability to work confidently with underwriters, actuaries and pricing teams, challenging assumptions and driving clarity where required.
Experience working alongside third-party software vendors where requirements ownership sits with the business and delivery ownership sits with the vendor.
Hands-on UAT experience, including test planning, defect management and test execution support.
Strong Jira (or similar) administration and documentation skills.
Experience with insurance PAS platforms such as Insly, Acturis, Novidea, Instanda, Genasys, OpenGI, Duck Creek or Guidewire
