Business Analyst - NHS IT Review

Our client a large consultancy engaged with digital transformation within the NHS require a Business Analyst with in depth NHS process experience.

Business Analyst

Data collection / manipulation and Processing

Active Directory / Domain Migration Experience

NHS & Clinical Application Working Experience

Application - Front / Back End design understanding

  • Analytical Skills Turning raw information into insights.
    • Reading specs, SOPs, audit logs, operational policies.
    • Reviewing system outputs (reports, logs, data extracts).
    • Identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities.
    • Understanding patterns, trends, and anomalies.
    • Using Excel, SQL basics, or dashboards to validate findings.
  • Stakeholder Management Skills
    • Active listening
    • Building trust
    • Able to get clarification & validation
  • Technical & Tool-Based Skills
    • Understanding how clinical systems store, share, and report data.
    • Knowing where to pull logs, extracts, or workflow data.
    • Understanding:
      • data fields and sources
      • relationships (e.g., patient episode charting reporting)
      • downstream impacts (e.g., EVOLVE, Mediviewer, Win Path)
  • Documentation Tools
    • Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
    • Creating diagrams, matrices, and structured outputs.
  • Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving
    • Spotting missing data, conflicting processes, or ambiguous requirements.
    • Root cause analysis - using methods like:

    • Helps you ask the right questions (this is essential to the role, candidates must have in depth NHS process experience.
