An exciting opportunity to join a global leading insurer with a diverse offering of insurance products. A mutual insurance business with more than 3,000 employees, they have revenues in excess of $4 billion and more than $10 billion in assets.

Due to the growth of their portfolio, they are hiring a Senior Marine & Energy Claims Adjuster to join their collaborative team of four marine professionals to focus on a varied portfolio. The successful person will handle large and complex lead losses across Marine Liabilities, Cargo, Energy Liabilities, Upstream, Midstream, and Power & Renewables on an international basis.

You will also be requested to work closely with the Underwriters, supporting with new business pitches and renewal meetings whilst building and maintaining a strong professional relationship with all parties.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Handle, adjust and negotiate settlement of Syndicates standard claims
  • Management of specific insureds and cover holder accounts
  • Management of complex claims under referral to the Head of First Party Claims
  • Liaise with and establish good relationships with brokers, legal representatives, service providers, experts, DCAs and Coverholders in connection with claim related matters
  • Organise and attend regular broker relationship meetings
  • Work with actuarial and underwriting teams to assist in the preparation of claims information
  • Update relevant parties on significant claims, wording issues or trends affecting the account to include portfolio analysis and provision of MI
  • Maintenance of the marine and energy watchlist and static/outstanding claim inventory review
  • Ensure and oversee the monitoring and recording of monthly bordereaux receipt for delegated accounts
  • Prepare and host lessons learned seminars for claims/underwriting
  • Attend renewal meetings, new business pitches and client meetings
  • Arrange, host and attend weekly/monthly underwriting/reserving meetings
  • Mentoring of team members/more junior members through day-to-day coaching and oversight
