Associate - Financial & Professional Risks

Browne Jacobson are currently in the market for an Associate to join our growing Financial & Professional Risks ("FPR") team, which acts for insurers, brokers and other financial services and insurance sector clients. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a successful and ambitious team which works on a range of professional indemnity, D&O, FI, and coverage matters. The role will involve working with London Market insurers and reinsurers on large international losses across a number of different classes of business including property and specie, FI PI, K&R and trade credit.

The post requires the candidate to develop good working relationships across the FPR team and with colleagues from the firm's other practice areas.

• Working with other senior members of the team, advising insurance and reinsurance companies and Syndicates on policy coverage issues and disputes across various classes of business.
• Reporting to clients in compliance with exacting client service and performance standards, especially demonstrating an aptitude for accurate reserving and setting out strategies clearly and executing those strategies pro-actively.
• Working with other senior members of the team, handling litigation and arbitration, including Bermuda Form.
• Applying commercial and cost-effective claims solutions, including engaging in ADR (especially mediation), expert and KC determinations, and engaging in all forms of conventional without prejudice negotiations.
• Contributing to the team's marketing and business development efforts in building a leading London Market insurance practice.
