We are recruiting for an Underwriter to join our London specialist Group Personal Accident & Travel team to provide an effective account management service for designated key Group PA/Travel clients and associated brokers in accordance with business values, objectives, procedures and processes.

As an underwriter focusing on large premium accounts, you are recognized for your technical expertise and ability to execute the renewal of existing and the writing of new corporate and multinational programs. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mind-set. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes for the programs you manage.

How you’ll make an impact

Provide an effective, timely and efficient account management service to key clients/brokers whilst meeting the department’s growth and profitability objectives.

Use designated Underwriting systems and processes to manage underwriting and information-tracking, inputting required data consistently and accurately.

Provide an excellent customer centric service to brokers through consistent, timely, and proactive and self-motivated approach.

Underwrite new and renewal business within agreed Personal Insurances decision making standards, limitations, and underwriting authority on allocated accounts.

Generate new business opportunities by building and expanding relationships across the market.

Control own work-state to ensure effective service in the processing of renewal and new business quotations, endorsements, queries, and other servicing requirements

Support the development of new and enhancements to existing services and products and assist the team in producing reports or completing specific projects, as required.

Ensure knowledge of and compliance with key regulatory, conduct and risk management responsibilities and ensure contract certainty on cases managed.

Take personal responsibility for career development and pro-actively keep up to date with industry and business issues and changes.

What you’ll need to succeed

Proven track record of writing and managing Group PA & Travel accounts.

A good understanding of Group A&H and the interaction with other lines of business.

Ability to collaborate and engage different stakeholders required to drive mutually beneficial results.

Strong commercial skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities, organise work and meet deadlines.

Good communication skills, both written and oral Customer and sales focused with a good understanding of the London and A&H market.

Tenacious, motivated, proactive, numerate, and literate.

Working towards or have achieved CII accreditation.
