Overview
Senior Crude Operations Specialist at Eni Trade & Biofuels (ETB) – London, responsible for managing day‑to‑day trading operations, supporting the trading lifecycle, and collaborating with traders, shipping, credit, and other functions.
Responsibilities- Manage day‑to‑day trading operations for associated commodities, ensuring operational performance efficiency.
- Handle voyage orders, pro‑forma invoices, documentary instructions, vessel nominations, Letters of Credit, cargo insurance (provisional & final), narrowing/nomination of dates and quantities, and vessel clearance.
- Support demurrage and costs management team for ancillary costs such as demurrage, freight differentials, deviation costs, and dead‑freight, and assist in their resolution.
- Optimize physical operations of the North Sea trading portfolio (equity, third‑party and traded cargoes) and operational/contractual aspects of BFOETM paper/chain activities.
- Serve as focal point for communication with terminals regarding loading program nominations.
- Maintain relationships with terminals, Eni departments, inspection companies, and other counter parties to ensure efficient operations.
- Identify causes of operational problems, coordinate with stakeholders, and resolve issues to mitigate costs and impacts for the Group.
- Collaborate closely with multiple functions – Oil & Freight Traders, Shipping Operations, Scheduling, Credit, Middle Office, Back Office, Insurance, Legal, Finance, and Contracts.
- Strong academic background in a numeracy‑oriented discipline.
- Knowledge of the oil‑trading lifecycle, particularly crude and oil products.
- Experience with trading and shipping operations (cargo, time charters, voyage charters, ships, quality and quantity controls).
- Familiarity with cargo documentation, Bills of Lading, inspections, L/Cs, voyage orders, and customs procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational, structured and logical thinking skills.
- Strong stakeholder‑management and communication skills, able to build effective relationships internally and externally.
- Ability to work at a fast pace in a dynamic trading environment, with time‑sensitive, business‑critical activities requiring 24/7 responsiveness.
- Strong teamwork orientation; international experience considered an advantage.
- Proactive, results‑oriented approach with high motivation and dedication.
- Fluency in English required; knowledge of Italian an advantage.
