Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

Vox Consultants are recruiting for an experienced Category Specialist to join a West London local authority on an initial 3-month ongoing contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to lead end-to-end procurement activity, deliver value for money, and support strategic procurement across a range of council categories.
The Role- Leading end-to-end procurement projects across allocated categories.
- Providing expert procurement advice to senior stakeholders.
- Developing category plans and sourcing strategies that deliver value for money.
- Managing supplier relationships and contract performance.
- Ensuring procurement activity complies with legislation and council procurement regulations.
- Working collaboratively with commissioners, finance, legal and operational teams to deliver successful procurement outcomes.
- Supporting continuous improvement, innovation and best practice within the procurement function.
- Previous experience working within public sector procurement, MUST BE within a local authority.
- CIPS qualification (or equivalent experience), with progression towards CIPS desirable.
- Strong knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing and contract management.
- Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing end-to-end procurement exercises and delivering compliant procurement solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
