About the Job

To provide a high quality, customer and quality focused service, through direct labour support to both minor works and responsive repairs team to ensure repairs are always carried out efficiently and safely works commensurate within our repairs department to the London Borough of Hounslow.

Work with the repairs and minor works team to achieve a first-time fix and meet the KPI targets to ensure both internal and external customer satisfaction is high and customer expectations are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide labour support to the repairs and minor works team and carrying out duties directed by the planning team, supervisor, or senior management.
  • To undertake repairs where competencies and training allow you to do so to a high standard.
  • To always undertake your duties safely and within the health and safety guidelines and the companies’ policies.
  • Form robust and effective working relationships with the planners and supervisors.
  • To promote a philosophy of putting customer needs first at every opportunity.
  • To work with residents and the voluntary sector in improving service delivery and promoting creative and innovative ways of tackling problems ensuring service delivery is maintained.
  • To check ladders and equipment before use and report any defects to the qualified operative, supervisor, or management immediately.
  • To check all PPE is adequate and in good condition, reporting any defects to the qualified operative, supervisor, or management immediately.
  • To ensure all works are undertaken safely and that risk assessments are always undertaken and adhered to.
  • To ensure the site is clean and tidy upon completion of works.
  • To photograph before and after repairs and store data on handheld device / PDA.
  • Be able to drive and hold a full driving licence.
  • To maintain the cleanliness of vehicles and ensure tools are checked regularly to ensure they remain safe and fit for purpose.
  • To follow all reasonable management requests.
  • Ensure you remain up to date with all relevant compliance and mandatory training that will enable you to fulfil your role's requirements.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Apprenticeship / City & Guilds / NVQ 2-3 equivalent relevant experience.
Previous Experience and Skills Required
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Knowledge of working in maintenance environment
  • Good understanding of roofing repair procedures and materials used.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe systems of work
  • Strong customer focus and customer satisfaction skills
  • Good working knowledge of local authority services
  • Previous experience of working in a Social Housing Repairs environment is desirable.
  • Experience of working within a customer facing role, delivering a outstanding customer experience
  • Good level of numeracy, literacy, written, oral and communication skills
