Technical Assistant, Maintenance​/Cleaning

In addition to technical maintenance duties, the role supports the on-site Facilities Management team in delivering an integrated service to the customer.

This is a highly client-facing position, requiring flexibility, strong communication skills and a willingness to undertake a wide variety of tasks as directed by the Facilities Manager or Regional Engineer.

• Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and health & safety requirements
• Carry out routine PPM and minor reactive mechanical and electrical maintenance
• Provide first-line response to equipment failures and building services faults
• Assist with site-based installation and minor project works
• Complete maintenance job sheets, service reports and site logbooks accurately
• Adhere to Service Level Agreements and planned work schedules
• Support supervision of subcontractors and maintain plant room housekeeping
• Operate site access-to-work systems and report any H&S breaches

• Experienced in a commercial building services or facilities environment
• Comfortable undertaking a wide range of tasks, from maintenance work to ad-hoc client requests
• Strong client-facing skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
• Competent using PCs with a working knowledge of Windows, MS Word and Excel
• Good written and verbal communication skills, including email use
• Able to follow internal reporting procedures for timesheets, expenses and documentation
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
• Committed, motivated and enthusiastic team player, Disability Confident
