Assistant Site Officer – Walthamstow
The new school site in Walthamstow is looking for a reliable and proactive Assistant Site Officer to join the team on a temporary supply basis. This role offers a practical, hands‑on position that supports a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.
This assignment will last at least one term, with the possibility to continue through December 2026 while the school recruits a permanent member.
Working hoursMonday to Friday, 1:30pm–6:30pm (including some holiday work, with a 20‑minute unpaid break during the shift).
Role responsibilities- Support the day‑to‑day running and upkeep of the school site
- Assist with opening and securing premises when required
- Carry out basic maintenance, repair and general DIY tasks
- Ensure classrooms, communal areas and outdoor spaces are well maintained
- Support deliveries, furniture moves and room set‑ups
- Complete routine checks and report issues to the Site Manager
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for the whole school community
- Experience in caretaking, facilities, maintenance or a similar site‑based role (desirable)
- Practical, dependable and able to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and pride in high standards
- Responsive to changing priorities and unexpected tasks
- Understanding of health and safety in a school environment
- Reliable, trustworthy and committed to supporting the wider school community
