Role Summary

A premier specialist commercial insurance provider, is seeking a dynamic and experienced AVP of Business Operations.

This senior role is pivotal in driving operational excellence and strategic development across the UK and Europe.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring underwriting support and internal business services are delivered efficiently and effectively, aligning with both organisational goals and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence:
    Champion and deliver operational excellence initiatives, including process improvement projects (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Underwriting Support:
    Develop and lead underwriting support services, streamline processes, and enhance productivity.
  • Business Resiliency:
    Manage organisational resiliency and ensure business continuity.
  • Facilities Management:
    Oversee the smooth running of all offices across the UK and Europe, including real-estate management and office safety.
  • Team Leadership:
    Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Technology and Innovation:
    Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement new technologies and drive the benefits of the Transformation Programme.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align underwriting operations with organisational objectives.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
  • 10+ years in insurance underwriting operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in operational excellence, process improvement, and change management.
  • Experience in managing large teams and driving cross-functional initiatives.
  • Knowledge of risk management and business continuity planning within insurance organisations.
