Direct reports: Operational effectiveness consultants based over UK and Ireland
The Design and Consultancy Manager is responsible for building and leading a world-class team of healthcare consultant professionals. Their mission is to deliver our commercial ambition through solution design and optimisation by establishing standardized methodologies, optimizing resource allocation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Ultimately, they ensure that the team delivers high-impact solution optimisation and design to support customers current and future needs needs whilst delirveing our commercial ambition.
Key responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, mentor, and coach a team of Operational effectivenss consul ants, ensuring they have the tools, skills, and career pathing necessary to excel.
Methodology & Governance: Define and enforce the organization’s soltuion design and optimisation framework to ensure consistency and quality across the portfolio.
Strategic Alignment: Partner with senior leadership to prioritise projects that align with the company’s long-term goals and ROI targets.
Portfolio Health: Maintain a bird’s-eye view of all active projects, identifying cross-project dependencies, systemic risks, and resource bottlenecks.
Stakeholder Orchestration: Act as the primary point of escalation for high-level stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication regarding project status and organizational impact.
Active member of the Lab Transformation Leadership team, contributing to defining the strategy of the team.
Key activities:
The day-to-day rhythm of the role involves high-level oversight and tactical support.
People Management:
Conducting 1-on-1s, performing skill-gap analyses, and resolving internal team conflicts or workload imbalances.
Define career objectives (in Workday) for Team Members and monitor progress; providing feedback on competencies.
Oversee development of new joiners and existing members of relevant regional team.
Accountable for ensuring team have access to required delivery methodologies and tools
Provide guidance and critical input in to strategic review of LTT tasks and roadmap, including org structure, methodologies and team responsibilities.
Portfolio Management and process optimization:
Hosting weekly "Sync" meetings to review the status of all active projects and re-allocating budget or staff as priorities shift.
Auditing current workflows to remove "red tape," selecting PM software/tools, and updating project templates (charters, Gantt charts, etc.)
Escalation for high priority risks and issues related to TS, Logistics and Commercial (Sales and Marketing).
Engage with Senior Management across the business to understand and align on priorities across the Customer Journey with respect to capacity and capability to deliver on an ongoing basis
Provide tactical input into the introduction of new products and services.
Synthesizing complex project data into executive-level dashboards that highlight KPIs, burn rates, and milestone achievements.
Responsible for project and program management as a product
Risk Mitigation
Facilitating "Pre-Mortems" for high-stakes projects and intervening when a project is at risk of "scope creep" or failure.
Decision making authority:
Contribute to defining LTT strategy.
Oversee prioritization of opportunities, projects and tenders with BAs.
Assign resources appropriate to regional requirements within scope of control.
Contributing to building commercial proposals.
