Our client, a leader in the energy sector, is seeking a dedicated Land Rights Project Manager for a contract role based across the UK, with a hybrid working model. This position is key to supporting the UK's ambition to achieve a net zero carbon footprint by 2050, specifically focusing on the development and delivery of new infrastructure projects within the Land, Planning, and External Affairs department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide a diverse team of land rights specialists, overseeing projects from inception to completion, including land acquisition and community negotiations
  • Provide expert advice and technical support to team members
  • Lead a team of surveyors and land officers for major new infrastructure builds
  • Act as an expert witness in Public Inquiries, Compulsory Purchase, and Land Tribunal cases
  • Implement National Grid's Land Rights Strategy consistently and economically
  • Report on project progress, key milestones, risks, and financial matters to stakeholders
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships and effectively communicate complex ideas
  • Support the Head of ETNI/SINI Land Teams in project delivery
  • Provide technical advice to National Grid's Land Team and the broader project team
  • Liaise with stakeholders, external suppliers, and third parties to achieve project objectives
  • Attend relevant meetings and forums as required
Job Requirements:
  • Significant experience in managing large-scale, complex land projects
  • Proven ability to provide guidance and support within a team setting
  • Strong communication skills, capable of handling conflict situations and advising team members
  • Excellent project management skills with a keen understanding of land rights and acquisitions
  • Relevant professional qualifications preferred (e.g., Member of the RICS, project management certifications)
  • Relevant degree in a related field
