THE ROLE

Ladbroke Hall is Carpenters Workshop Gallery's London flagship and a unique destination bringing together exhibitions, hospitality, private events and cultural programming.

The Director's mission is to ensure that Ladbroke Hall operates as one coherent destination rather than a collection of independent activities, delivering an exceptional client experience and sustainable business performance.

Reporting directly to the Co-Founder, the Director leads the day-to-day operation, performance and coordination of the venue, ensuring that all activities work together seamlessly while supporting the long-term vision and growth of the site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Venue Excellence & Client Experience
  • Ensure a seamless and exceptional experience across every aspect of Ladbroke Hall.
  • Oversee the daily operation, presentation and standards of the venue.
  • Coordinate exhibitions, hospitality, events and private hire activities to ensure a consistent client journey.
  • Champion a culture of hospitality, quality and attention to detail.
Commercial & Financial Performance
  • Own the operational P&L of Ladbroke Hall, excluding gallery sales.
  • Define budgets, forecasts and performance objectives for the venue.
  • Monitor key business indicators and drive initiatives that improve profitability, efficiency and client engagement.
  • Ensure resources are deployed effectively to support sustainable growth.
Leadership & Coordination
  • Lead and align the venue's Heads of Department around shared objectives.
  • Foster collaboration across all activities and functions operating within Ladbroke Hall.
  • Translate the founders' vision into clear operational priorities and execution.
  • Act as the senior operational representative of the venue internally and externally.
COLLABORATION

The Director is accountable for the overall operation and performance of Ladbroke Hall, while working in close partnership with specialist teams.

  • Collaborates with the Gallery and Sales teams to create synergies and enhance client engagement, without ownership of gallery sales strategy or sales management.
  • Partners with Marketing, Programming and Exhibition teams to ensure successful delivery and coordination of activities hosted at Ladbroke Hall.
PROFILE
  • Proven leadership experience within hospitality, private members' clubs, luxury venues, cultural destinations or comparable environments.
  • Strong operational, commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and P&L responsibility.
  • Deep understanding of hospitality standards, guest experience and restaurant economics.
  • Visible, hands-on leader with the ability to combine strategic thinking and operational execution.
  • Natural relationship builder, comfortable engaging with clients, partners, suppliers and teams.
  • Highly organised, resilient and autonomous, with the credibility to act as a trusted partner to the founders.
