WHO WE ARE
Ding is the global leader in cross-border value transfer. Since 2006, we’ve moved more than $6BN across borders, putting money directly into the hands of diaspora communities so they can support the families they left behind. Today, we operate in 160+ countries, partner with 600+ mobile operators, and serve some of the world’s most underserved markets with technology that is fast, reliable and genuinely life-changing.
We’re headquartered in Dublin and built by a team of 200+ people spread across the globe, engineers, operators and product thinkers who believe that moving value across borders should be as simple as sending a message.
We move fast, build with purpose, and hold ourselves to four values:
- We’re Here to Make a Difference
- We are Thinkers, Linkers & Doers
- We Win Together
- We Imagine Boldly & Build Fast
JOB TITLE: General Manager – (Caribbean)
LOCATION: London, UK (3 days per week in the office)
TYPE OF
CONTRACT:
Permanent, Full-Time
SALARY RANGE: Up to £110,000 + bonus
We are seeking a highly commercial and entrepreneurial General Manager (GM) to lead a cluster of country markets. The GM will have full P&L responsibility, accountable for driving growth in transactions, deepening local market penetration, optimising gross profit, and unlocking new market opportunities within their region.
This role requires a strategic yet hands‑on leader, comfortable managing diverse partnerships, building and executing growth strategies, and collaborating cross‑functionally with central teams.
WHAT YOU’LL DOKey Objectives
- Transaction Growth and gross profit growth — the two numbers this role is judged on.
- On-the-ground (OTG) activation as the primary growth lever — street‑level and community activation that gets new users transacting, not just aware.
- Successfully launch and scale new markets within the cluster.
Key Responsibilities
- OTG Activation
- Runs ground activation personally — designs the local activation plan, gets hands‑on with execution (crews, partners, companies, on-the-ground events), and fixes what isn't working in real time rather than waiting for a quarterly review.
- Builds distribution beyond the obvious — retail, digital, and community partnerships that get Ding closer to where diaspora customers already are.
- P&L and Market Expansion
- Identify and launch new country markets in the cluster, overseeing go-to-market execution and early growth acceleration.
- Own the P&L for the cluster of countries, delivering revenue and gross profit targets.
- Monitor performance through KPIs, market insights, and competitor intelligence, making data‑driven decisions.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and accountability across local teams and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Growth Strategy & Execution
- Design and implement pricing, discounting, and promotional strategies, including structured testing to optimise conversion and margin.
- Partner with Marketing teams to plan and optimise paid search campaigns, ensuring ROI and alignment with local customer insights.
- Commercial & Partnerships
- Build and manage partnerships with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), driving supply, promotional strategy, and joint business planning.
- Develop and scale distribution partnerships across retail and digital channels, including sourcing and vouchering products.
- Negotiate commercial terms and secure competitive advantage in the market.
- Proven track record in general and /or country market management, commercial leadership, or regional P&L ownership.
- A track record of building or running something with limited resources and making it work.
- Direct, specific evidence of running ground‑level marketing or activation that moved a real number — not just overseeing an agency that did.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: hands‑on,…
