The Chief of Staff (CoS) will act as a strategic partner to the CEO, helping translate Talbot’s goals and objectives into focused execution, enabling the successful delivery of strategic, financial, operational and people plans. The role operates across Talbot and AIG to drive alignment, accelerate key priorities, improve leadership effectiveness and ensure the CEO and leadership team are focused on the decisions and initiatives that will have the greatest impact They will be instrumental in enabling Talbot to deliver its business objectives across the AIG Group, effectively managing relationships with other stakeholders.

They will also act in an advisory capacity to the CEO in matters relating to business management and leadership, strategy, communications, people management and financial planning. They will be providing thought leadership, generating ideas and driving initiatives to improve business performance and providing meaningful contributions towards resolution of day-to-day and ongoing management issues. The position demands a high level of initiative and autonomy to add value, enable business growth, to take corrective action and institute new processes, projects and activities.

With strong relationships across AIG, within the Lloyd’s corporation and across the Lloyd’s market, the CoS will influence outcomes at a strategic level.

• Act as a trusted thought partner and sounding board to the CEO.
• As a confidante, discussion partner and advisor to the CEO, this role will providing thought leadership; supporting creation of ideas and resolution of issues Translate the CEO’s vision into clear priorities, decisions and actions.
• Anticipate needs, identify risks and develop solutions for the CEO to consider.
• Responsible for preparing and briefing the CEO prior to external meetings and/or events including; drafting talking points, speeches, briefing notes or analysis.

• Strategic Execution; turn strategic priorities into executable plans with clear owners, milestones and outcomes (leveraging project & programme management experience)
• Identify blockers and drive resolution across the business.
• Directly assist the CEO in all day to day operations, including a variety of complex tasks and ensure the activities are aligned to business goals and priorities.
• Streamlining these activities and helping to ensure the highest quality of delivery
