Maintenance Engineer
Location:
East London (E16)
Working Hours:
Monday‑Friday, 7am‑3pm
Salary: £55,000 + Overtime

Our client is an established food manufacturer, part of a larger global group, with multiple sites worldwide. Due to growth & CI projects at the site, they are looking for a new maintenance engineer to join their production & packaging team.
Responsibilities- Carry out planned, reactive maintenance and safety checks on all high-speed food production lines, packaging machinery, conveyors, metal detectors, labellers, baggers, checkweighers, PLCs, control panels, robotics, depositors
- Electrical & mechanical fault finding, repairs, stripdowns & overhauls
- Work on motors, gearboxes, VSDs, inverters, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, drives, bearings
- Improve plant availability, reliability and continuous improvement work
- Monitor contractors on site, ordering spares & parts
- Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer
- Ideally completed a recognised apprenticeship
- HNC / HND qualified in Engineering
- Electrical & mechanical fault finding and problem solving skills
- Prior experience with industrial processing & equipment and manufacturing systems
- Experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Knowledge of electrical safety isolation procedures (beneficial)
- Experience working on motors, sensors, inverters, gearboxes, VSDs, pneumatics, drives
- Experience using SAP (beneficial)
- Advantageous if worked with PLC systems
- Any experience in an ATEX / CompEX environment would be great
