Location: City Of London

North East London (E10) – commutable from Stratford, Walthamstow, Enfield, Cheshunt, Romford, Edgware, Harlow, Barking.

Salary:
GBP
60,000 + Overtime

Shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off Days and Nights (06:30-06:30).

Our client is a leading food manufacturer, supplying into bakeries, supermarkets and online food delivery companies. They are looking for an experienced Multi‑skilled Shift Engineer who is electrically biased, to join their close‑knit team.

Role And Responsibilities
  • Provide electrical and mechanical support and repairs for all production equipment and site services
  • Carry out PPMs, reactive maintenance and project work
  • Work on conveyors, food production and packaging machinery, PLCs, mixers, rollers, ovens, freezers, automation and controls, control panels, steam systems, robotics, wrappers, baggers
  • Carry out planned maintenance activities to ensure plant safety and reliability
  • Deal with pneumatics, inverters, compressors, pumps, gearboxes, motors, sensors
  • Project engineering: hands‑on equipment upgrades and continuous improvements
  • Utilise the CMMS systems fully and assist in its development
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
  • Must be an experienced multi‑skilled engineer with a strong electrical bias
  • Previously worked in food or FMCG manufacturing/production
  • Electrical safety and LOTO experience in an industrial environment
  • Qualified to HNC/HND level preferably or NVQ Level 3 Engineering as a minimum
  • Completed a UK‑based time‑served apprenticeship
  • Able to work well under pressure in a busy manufacturing environment
  • Positive and driven character
  • Knowledge of continuous improvements and project work
  • 17th or 18th Edition qualified ideally
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems
