Consumer Communications Manager – Brand & Good Causes

Location: London

Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office required

Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE

Type: Permanent

We are working with a leading, internationally recognised consumer organisation that is embarking on an exciting period of growth and transformation. The organisation has a strong social purpose at its heart, with its work making a meaningful contribution to communities and good causes across the UK.

We are looking for an experienced Consumer Communications Manager to join the team and play a key role in driving brand relevance, trust and participation through impactful, integrated consumer communications.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative PR and communications professional who understands how to build brands through compelling storytelling, cultural relevance and strong media relationships.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Consumer Communications Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering consumer communications across two key areas:

Brand:

Creating campaigns and stories that make the organisation’s consumer brand feel modern, relevant and exciting, using stories centred around hope, optimism and participation.

Good Causes:

Developing campaigns and content that showcase the real-world impact the organisation has across communities, sport, arts and heritage, helping audiences understand the positive difference their participation makes.

As a creative storyteller, you will use audience insights to develop content that informs, entertains and engages consumers, with a particular focus on creating work that has the potential to generate conversation and sharing across media and social channels.

You will need to have your finger on the pulse of media, social and emerging AI developments, with a proven ability to find creative ways for brands to become part of the cultural conversation.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Develop and deliver stories and campaigns that promote the consumer brand.
  • Develop and deliver stories and campaigns that showcase the organisation’s contribution to good causes at scale.
  • Draft press materials including briefs, press releases and interview materials.
  • Support shoots to produce high-quality photography and video content.
  • Proactively pitch stories to media to secure high-impact coverage.
  • Work closely with marketing, social and wider communications teams to deliver multi-platform storytelling.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, influencers and wider media contacts.
  • Support the management of external PR agencies to ensure strong results.
  • Deliver reporting and evaluation, highlighting insights and actionable recommendations to improve performance.
  • Support the Senior Consumer Communications Manager in innovating the PR approach in line with consumer trends and the evolving media landscape.
  • Stay up to date with digital communication trends and understand how AI can influence consumer communications.
  • Support with budget management.
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with a strong background in consumer PR, media or journalism who can combine creativity with a strategic and commercially aware approach.

You will ideally have:

  • Significant experience in PR, media or journalism.
  • Established relationships with journalists, media and relevant social influencers.
  • A strong track record of securing high-impact media coverage.
  • Strong understanding of modern media consumption, consumer trends and best practice.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • High levels of creativity and strategic thinking.
  • Experience managing PR agencies.
  • A proactive, positive and collaborative approach with a genuine ‘can-do’ attitude.
