Role Overview
The Grant Manager will be seconded to the Fidelity UK Foundation and based in London. The position is full‑time and requires presence in the office 2‑3 days a week, with additional days or travel for site visits and meetings as needed.
Location & Working HoursLondon (Cannon Street). Must be in office 2‑3 days per week and available for additional travel.
Key Responsibilities- Pro‑actively develop and maintain a pipeline of strategic grants aligned with the Foundation’s priority areas, particularly health and wellbeing and children and young people.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on prospective grantees, applying the Foundation’s due diligence framework to assess leadership, governance, impact, funding model, financial health and strategic plans.
- Write clear, concise proposals for Trustee consideration, providing sound analysis and recommendations.
- Peer review grant proposals across the UK and international Foundations.
- Manage the grant portfolio, maintaining constructive relationships with grantees throughout the life‑cycle and ensuring efficient grant administration with the Grants Administration team.
- Track progress, analyze impact, and prepare learning reports for Trustees; facilitate periodic meetings or site visits with grantees.
- Connect grantees to promote shared learning and support cross‑Foundation knowledge sharing.
- Assist the Head of UK Programmes in strategic monitoring of trends, knowledge sharing, and relationship building with other grant‑makers.
- Ensure compliance with all Foundation policies, mitigate risk, and keep the grant‑making database updated.
- Provide flexible support to the Foundations team, covering for other members and representing the Foundations consistent with values.
- Significant experience in grant‑making, preferably within health and wellbeing and/or children and young people sectors.
- In‑depth knowledge of the charitable sector, funding ecology, policy environments and socio‑economic impact in the Foundation’s priority areas.
- Experience with landscape and data analysis to shape strategic thinking and decision‑making.
- Direct experience working in or as a consultant for mid‑ to large‑sized charities, including Trustee roles.
- Established network of contacts across the non‑profit sector and other funders.
- Understanding of how philanthropy can strengthen impact, efficiency and sustainability of organisations.
- Strong research, analytical and written communication skills to produce clear, concise, and insightful information for diverse audiences.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational and project management skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective interpersonal skills to engage with diverse organisations and stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking, sound judgement, and the ability to ask insightful questions.
- IT literacy, including use of Salesforce and grant‑making databases.
- High standard of written and spoken English, listening skills, and empathy in working with people from diverse backgrounds.
Degree or equivalent experience, ideally in fields directly relevant to the role.

Salary & Benefits£47,000 – £53,000 plus comprehensive benefits.
