Junior Sister​/Charge Nurse Band 6

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced clinical leader to serve as a role model and preceptor for the multidisciplinary team on St Mary Abbots Ward. The successful candidate will bring acute surgical expertise and will lead training, practice development and education initiatives.

• Manage and act as a preceptor for a group of staff, sharing clinical expertise and fostering team development.
• Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the multidisciplinary team during the absence of the sister/charge nurse.
• Lead specific management tasks and projects delegated by the sister/charge nurse.
• Represent the sister/charge nurse at directorate and trust meetings.
• Model expert clinical care and mentor staff through practice development, education and preceptorship.

• Acute surgical experience in colorectal cancer care, upper and lower GI surgery, stoma nursing and plastic surgery.
• Demonstrated ability to work as an effective role model and preceptor within a clinical setting.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Employment is subject to a six-month probationary period.
