We are looking for a highly motivated Band 6 children’s nurse to join our team on a 12-month fixed term basis covering maternity leave on our 24‑bedded Medical and Respiratory children’s ward, 7E.
OverviewThe role involves managing a large caseload of children, many with complex conditions such as complex respiratory diseases (non‑invasive ventilation, tracheostomy care, cystic fibrosis, empyema), diabetes, haematology, endocrine, neurology and general paediatrics. The post holder will provide family‑centred care, fostering positive relationships with children and their families.
Responsibilities- Ensure family‑centred care is maintained and delivered to the highest standard.
- Lead a designated nursing team and provide clinical leadership in line with interdisciplinary team standards.
- Work closely with consultants, physiotherapists, dieticians, pharmacists, general managers and specialist nurses, including community teams.
- Collaborate with the full multidisciplinary team to deliver individualised care to children and their families.
