Job overviewWe are looking for a Band 7 Allergy Clinical Nurse Specialist for a fixed‑term contract until March 31, 2027. The post is part‑time – 15 hours per week – and will work in the Chest and Allergy service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
The post holder will deliver nurse‑led outpatient clinics, support the food and drug allergy day‑case services and work alongside the medical and nursing team to deliver our immunotherapy service. Awareness of the current issues in allergy management is essential. Teaching experience and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team are desirable.
Main duties of the job- Provide high‑quality nursing care and support for patients and their carers with allergy within ICHNT and in liaison with the multi‑disciplinary teams and community respiratory teams.
- Work within the scope of the service, which includes assessment, diagnostic testing, diagnosis, planning treatment and discharge planning.
- Enhance skills and educate health care professionals within ICHNT in managing patients with allergic diseases.
- Act as a resource for patients and families.
- Participate where appropriate in nursing research and contribute to local and national audit.
- Participate in the annual report of the CNS service and outcomes.
- Active involvement in the development of the service locally and nationally in line with NICE/BTS/BSACI guidance.

- NMC Registered Nurse.
- Evidence of postgraduate study / relevant courses / training in allergy.
- Teaching and assessing qualification – ENB 998 or equivalent or relevant experience.
- Knowledge of research and audit including implementation of findings and review of outcomes.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Ability to practice within the scope of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Excellent level of English language demonstrated through effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Evidence of postgraduate study in allergy.
- Mentorship course or other teacher training.
- Advanced assessment skills.
- Non‑medical prescriber.
- Significant demonstrable post‑registration nursing experience with patients with respiratory and allergy conditions.
- Evidence of experience in medicines management and in delivery of nurse‑led services.
- Evidence of experience in health education or health promotion focusing on supporting patients with self‑management.
- Computer and IT software literate.
- Competent in cannulation.
- Competent in IV administration.
