Intensive Recovery Lead Nurse

Role Overview

Applications are invited from suitably experienced Senior Critical Care Nurses to lead the HDU/Recovery team at our client's Acute Hospital site based in Central London (Travelcard Zone
1).

This role is within easy reach of TfL and National Rail services. It is a combined 3‑bedded unit, recovering complex patients directly from theatre and keeping high‑dependency patients until ready for transfer to the surgical ward.

Patients are ventilated on occasion, so current or recent Level 3 Critical Care experience is essential. This is a full‑time, permanent post.

• Take charge of the shift, supported by three Critical Care Nurses.
• Support the wards via an outreach service.
• Manage complex patients recovering from theatre and maintain high‑dependency care until transfer.

• Registered with RGN and NMC.
• At least three years’ experience at Band 6 level in a Critical Care role.
• Proficient in managing Level 3 ventilated patients.
• Completion of a relevant teaching, assessing and/or mentorship qualification.
• Experience in supporting junior practitioners and students.
