Education/ Qualification Essential criteria
  • Current NMC Registration for children's nursing
  • Evidence of post registration study / learning over the past two years.
  • Numeracy skills required for the safe administration of medicines
Desirable criteria
  • Teaching Qualification
Experience Essential criteria
  • Recent experience of at least 1 year of working as a registered children's nurse in a community nursing role
  • Recent experience within as acute/community setting
  • Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Evidence of involvement in the management of difficult situations and conflict resolution
  • Teaching in the practice situation
  • Evidence of working without direct supervision and managing own workload
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of working without direct supervision and managing own workload
  • Experience of managing staff within a team
  • Managing a safeguarding caseload
Skills & Knowledge Essential criteria
  • Ability to support people to make informed decisions in relation to their health and well-being.
  • Demonstrate ability to adapt to working within a changing environment.

  • Evidence of supporting equality and valuing diversity in own practice
  • Evidence of current clinical competencies relevant to community nursing.

Key Attributes Essential criteria
  • Academic ability to study independently at degree or postgraduate level.
  • Good computer literacy skills e.g., Microsoft word, excel
  • Excellent, adaptable communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Numeracy and Literacy skills
  • Able to willing to work in partnership with service users, their friends and family as well as other health professionals
Desirable criteria
  • Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
