This Staff Nurse post sits on Ward 3C, a cardiac day case unit at Barts Heart Centre, run by Barts Health NHS Trust. The ward cares for patients having elective, interventional and electrophysiology procedures, and works closely with the Catheter Laboratory on work from device implants to ASD closures. Ward hours run from 7:30am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, and the post offers in-house and university training with senior nursing support.
Fit rests on NMC registration, with cardiology ward experience desirable.
- Develop cardiology skills and basic knowledge specific to the area
- Registered general nurse (RGN/RN) qualification
- NMC registration
- Good interpersonal skills
- Works well as a team member
- Manages own workload and adapts to changing demands
- Clear verbal and written communication
- Positive attitude and works well under pressure
- Willing to learn specific competencies and take constructive criticism
- Preparation for mentorship course or equivalent
- Previous coronary care or cardiology ward experience
- Cardiology ward experience
- In-house and university-level training programme
- Professional and educational development support from the senior nursing structure
