Investigations Quality Assurance Officer
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical professional to join our Investigations Knowledge and Development team as a Quality Assurance Officer. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in quality assurance, regulatory oversight, investigations, compliance, risk, or other complex operational environments. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of assessing quality, identifying trends and risks, and driving continuous improvement through robust analysis and constructive feedback.
This is a hybrid role.
As a Quality Assurance Officer, you will be part of a dedicated team focused on enhancing the quality, consistency and integrity of investigations across the Investigations directorate. Through the delivery of quality assurance activities, you will help ensure investigations are conducted in line with organisational standards, regulatory requirements, guidance and best practice.
You will be responsible for reviewing investigation files, analysing quality assurance findings and identifying trends, risks and development opportunities. Working closely with the Knowledge and Development Managers and wider Investigation teams, you will provide valuable insight and assurance on the quality and consistency of investigation outcomes, supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
In this important role, you will produce high-quality analysis and reports, highlighting areas of good practice, emerging risks and opportunities to strengthen processes. You will proactively assess whether investigation guidance and procedures remain current and effective, ensuring they continue to support regulatory objectives and operational excellence.
This role will report to the Lead Knowledge and Development Manager.

- Relevant academic qualification and related experience, or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of the application of relevant legislation, regulatory standards, processes and procedures
- Experience of undertaking analytical quality assurance work in a similar environment and identifying risks, trends and areas of improvement
- Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to deliver concise, constructive feedback.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships, at all levels across the organisation
- Strong organisational skills demonstrating an ability effectively manage self and others time.

This is a hybrid role, and we are recruiting for this role in our Birmingham, Cardiff or London offices. You will be based in the office nearest to your location, with the expectation of working 1-2 days a week in the office and the remainder of the week from home.
The starting salary for this role is £43,982 (plus 10% London weighting if applicable).
