The key responsibilities for this role will include but are not limited to:
- Managing the day-to‑day operations and activities within the members club ensuring the team deliver an exceptional hosted experience for our members.
- Overseeing the preparation of all wines and ensure quality and consistency of product is always in line with our members club standards.
- Recommending food and wine pairings to our members.
- Advising members on wines based on their personal tastes and food choices.
- Informing members about different varieties of wines and prices.
- Ensuring wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware and in the correct manner.
- Providing direction to the Sommelier team during service.
- Storing opened bottles properly to maintain adequate taste.
- Managing wine cellar and ensure it is stocked as requested.
- Training junior colleagues and other F&B colleagues on available wines and also make sure that they have good knowledge of the wine list.
- Maintaining all department control procedures ensuring the safe delivery of all food and beverage related products in line with UK food safety and health and safety legislation.
- Being an ambassador for our members club who embodies our values and commitment to all teams.
- Suggesting changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, cost reductions and to improve our member experience.
- Having good communication skills and proficiently liaising with all departments on an ongoing basis retaining close and professional relationships.
- WSET Diploma or CMS Advanced
- At least 3 years proven experience in a Sommelier role within a luxury / lifestyle hospitality business.
- Excellent time‑management skills; comfortable prioritising what is important during busy periods.
- Obsessive about wine
- You are an inspiring leader who relishes taking responsibility for running the Wine department.
- A balance between a methodical and process‑driven approach and flexibility and creativity when it comes to meeting deadlines and finding solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and comfortable talking to colleagues, senior management, and coming front of house to talk to members.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and hosting.
