Location: City of Westminster

This role supports the development of the future visual merchandising proposition, focusing on how product is presented, organised, and brought to life across store formats. You contribute to defining:
Product layout and zoning principles, Product presentation and storytelling approaches, In‑store navigation and customer flow through VM. The role is critical in ensuring that future VM concepts deliver clarity, consistency, and commercial impact, supporting a more immersive and consumer‑led retail experience.

Core Accountabilities Future VM Proposition Development

Support the development of the future VM vision and proposition across store formats. Contribute to defining how VM evolves in line with Retail Acceleration and future store concepts. Assist in translating brand and product strategies into forward‑looking VM concepts.

Product Layout & Zoning

Support the design of product layout principles and zoning frameworks across formats. Define how different product categories are organised and prioritised in store. Contribute to creating clear navigation and flow through product environments.

Product Presentation & Storytelling

Support development of product presentation standards, including:

  • Hero product focus
  • Category storytelling
  • Product density and space allocation

Ensure presentation supports both brand storytelling and commercial objectives.

Concept Development & Testing

Support the creation of VM concepts and prototypes for pilot stores and new formats. Work with cross‑functional teams to bring concepts to life in test environments / mock shops. Capture learnings and insights from pilots to support refinement and scaling. Manage the inventory of the digital mockshop (IWD), including fixture inventory, and ensure the product and graphic catalog is kept fully up to date.

Integration

with Store Design & Experience

Partner with Retail Design & Concepts to align VM with store layouts and fixtures. Ensure alignment between VM (product presentation), Retail Experience (journey & engagement), and Retail Marketing (campaign storytelling). Contribute to delivering a connected end‑to‑end in‑store experience.

Documentation & Toolkit

Support the creation of future VM playbooks, guidelines, and frameworks. Ensure clarity and consistency in how VM concepts are documented and shared. Prepare materials for internal reviews, concept presentations, and stakeholder alignment.

Experience & Qualifications

Experience or strong interest in visual merchandising, retail design, or product presentation. Understanding of how product layout and zoning influence consumer behaviour. Ability to translate ideas into clear visual and structural frameworks. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Creative mindset with an interest in retail innovation and concept development. Ability to work cross‑functionally with design, VM, marketing, and experience teams.

Strong communication and presentation support skills. Comfortable working in a test‑and‑learn, evolving environment.

Decision Remit

Supports the development of future VM concepts and frameworks. Recommends improvements to product layout, zoning, and presentation approaches. Contributes to refining VM concepts through testing and feedback. Escalates decisions relating to concept direction or alignment challenges. Clear, well‑defined future VM principles and frameworks for stores. Strong, structured product layouts and zoning concepts across formats. VM concepts that improve navigation, clarity, and product storytelling in store.

Successful support of pilot concepts and test‑and‑learn initiatives. High‑quality documentation enabling scalable rollout of VM concepts. Strong alignment across VM, Retail Experience, and Design teams. Contribution to a more immersive, intuitive, and commercially effective store environment.
