The Role
We are seeking a Business Development Executive, Public Sector, to drive growth across the Total Politics public sector media and events portfolio. The successful candidate will sell to both new and existing clients proactively & effectively. This will be achieved by developing and implementing a sales strategy and programme of business development initiatives to deliver increased growth across our print, digital and event offerings whilst meeting the portfolio sales targets.
Responsibilities- Work across our portfolio of print, online and event offerings to identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Seek new business opportunities, through one’s own initiative, closing high yield business quickly and efficiently.
- Identify potential new clients through proactive sales techniques.
- Present to and close business with clients both face to face and over the phone.
- Meet and exceed individual and company financial targets.
- Retain and build portfolio of past and dormant clients.
- Secure meetings with and present to senior management/board level client prospects.
- Evaluate latest developments in public policy and identify business opportunities.
- Liaise with editorial and delivery teams to deliver client campaigns.
- Update and maintain company systems as appropriate (CRM, production schedules, etc.).
- Proven track record of success in media sales.
- A previous experience of working with events/media targeting the public sector is beneficial but not essential.
- Experience with digital/social media sales or campaigning is beneficial but not essential.
- Driven, ambitious, self‑starter with experience of the consultative sales process and used to selling complex products or services at senior management‑board level.
