Principal Consultant - Senior Legal BD, Marketing & Communications Recruitment

I'm working with a leading international law firm seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to support a highly successful and strategically important Property practice.

This is an opportunity to move beyond delivery and become a trusted adviser to senior partners, helping shape growth plans, drive client development initiatives and influence the future direction of the practice.

The Opportunity

Working closely with senior leadership, you will play a central role in developing and executing the business development strategy for the Property group. You'll help identify growth opportunities, strengthen key client relationships, develop compelling market propositions and support the pursuit of significant new business opportunities.

This is a highly visible role offering exposure to senior stakeholders across the firm and the chance to make a tangible impact on revenue growth, client engagement and market positioning.

Alongside the strategic elements of the role, you'll lead a dedicated BD team, ensuring delivery of targeted campaigns, high-quality bids and proposals, thought leadership initiatives, events, profile-raising activities and directory submissions.

Duties will include:
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders to develop and deliver ambitious growth plans.
  • Driving client relationship and account development initiatives.
  • Leading strategic business development campaigns and pursuits.
  • Advising on and supporting key bids, proposals and pitch opportunities.
  • Developing market-facing content and profile-building initiatives.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance the group's position in key sectors and markets.
  • Leading and developing a talented Business Development team.
  • Using market intelligence and client insight to inform business decisions.
What's needed:
  • Business development experience within a law firm environment
  • Strong commercial awareness and a genuine interest in helping partners win new work.
  • Experience supporting practice groups, sectors or client programmes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence senior individuals.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to drive initiatives forward independently.
  • Exposure to the Property, Real Estate or Built Environment sectors would be highly advantageous.
