Global Account Manager – Energy & Utilities
As a Global Account Manager (GAM), you partner with our customers to build strategic relationships, articulate a clear vision, and generate measurable business value across multiple geographies. You own and develop specific business segments within our customer base, driving growth and enhancing satisfaction while collaborating with high‑performing teams across AWS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and build trusted advisor relationships with key decision‑makers (CxOs, VPs, Board members) across Lines of Business and functional areas.
- Develop and implement comprehensive 3‑year account strategies aligned to customer board‑level priorities that drive growth and maximize revenue opportunities.
- Work closely with internal AWS teams and external partners to architect and deliver best‑in‑class business solutions for customers.
- Command a room as a leader, communicating via email, phone, face‑to‑face, and writing executive briefing documents.
- Operate independently, exercising critical business judgment in routine and complex engagements.
- Drive strategic pipeline creation and conversion of large‑scale transformation programs to exceed revenue targets.
- Create executive‑level value propositions tied to measurable outcomes and ROI.
- Monitor Energy & Utilities industry trends to provide strategic insights and identify new opportunities for customer innovation.
- Develop case studies and reference materials highlighting successful outcomes on AWS.
- Lead negotiation and closing of legal agreements such as Enterprise Agreements and Private Pricing Addendums.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of direct sales experience in software, cloud or SaaS markets, with proven success selling to C‑level executives.
- Strong understanding of AWS service catalog and ability to relate cloud and AI solutions to clients’ business problems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to executive audiences.
- Deep understanding of sales principles, processes and techniques including lead generation, negotiation and closing complex, multi‑stakeholder deals.
- Bachelor’s degree, or MBA in computer science, engineering, analytics, business or equivalent.
- Fluency in English; deep understanding of the Energy & Utilities industry landscape, including regulatory environment, market dynamics and digital transformation trends.
- Experience in digital transformation consulting or strategic advisory roles.
- Proven history of creating net‑new revenue streams through strategic initiatives.
