This is a people management role. You will be responsible for day-to-day management of resources and for defining roles and responsibilities. You will develop your team through sharing information effectively, mentoring and communicating a clear vision to ensure that your staff are productive, engaged and motivated to deliver the area's aims. This will include setting clear goals and smart stretching objectives that are aligned to those of the team, division and directorate.

You will also be responsible for managing staff-related matters that may arise including performance, absence and sickness. The role requires flexibility to cover shifts between different buildings and cover staff absences.

The primary focus of the Security Supervisor is the delivery of security tasks, requiring industry standard knowledge of security activities. Successful candidates will be required to use their own initiative and escalate issues to security managers or above when appropriate. Being alert, motivated, vigilant and authoritative are key factors for these roles. The security team have a wide range of responsibilities which include:

  • Control room operations
  • Internal and external patrolling
  • Searching
    - Personal, Vehicle and Building
  • Static guarding
  • Planning and delivery of training
  • Building and asset protection
  • Scheduling daily resources
  • Incident management and escalation

The security supervisor role will have responsibility for the supervision, training, mentoring and welfare of security officers, as well as covering duties for the shift manager during absences.

Role Requirements

  • Prior experience working within the Security Industry or equivalent
  • Experience using industry security systems such as CCTV, alarm, and Fire systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and written.
  • Work effectively as an individual without supervision
  • Leadership skills to command a team effectively
  • Dynamic thinking and reacting immediately are key for this role.
  • Professional judgement, integrity and discretion.
  • Experience in delivering a professional customer experience.
  • Experience of working within a similar high fast paced role.
  • Ability and confidence to cover for shift managers and lead a large team effectively.
  • Presentable and smart at all times.
  • Articulate and able to communicate well, both written and verbally.
  • Proficiency working with a variety of security technology.
  • Confident liaising with visitors, VIP's, senior executives of the Bank
  • Ability to respond to security incidents and implement emergency procedures.
  • A valid front line SIA License or current certificate of completion of SIA front line training.
  • First Aid Certification.

3 On/3 Off shift rotation with two additional training days per month.

Combination of early, late, and night shifts, approximately 8 hours per shift and training day.

As an operational on-site role, there is no remote work.
