The members of our Sales Engineering team are highly valued business partners that play a critical role in our sales process every single day. As a Senior Inside Sales Engineer working with Commercial accounts, you will be one of the most important members of the Proofpoint sales team. After initial onboarding and regular product training, you will become a trusted advisor to our Account Managers and Channel Partners in region, as well as our current and future customers.
As a technical liaison and subject matter expert on all things Proofpoint, you will help to deliver People-Centric solutions that protect against today's cyber threats.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute targeted account penetration strategies
- Design and champion complex People-Centric Security solutions encompassing the entire Proofpoint portfolio
- Assist in professional services deployments and technical training, and present or attend industry seminars and/or trade shows
- Provide customer insights and real-world experiences to Product Management, Marketing and Product Development (Engineering) teams
- Support the Channel team in enabling our Distributors and Resellers
- Become an expert in Email Security, Advanced Persistent Threats, Attack Protection, Threat Response, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
- Occasional travel required
- Proven hands‑on experience as a Sales/Systems Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Security Engineer, or senior level product support, preferably in the cyber‑security industry
- Experience in secure messaging, data security, network security, endpoint, NOC/SOC, or MSP related cybersecurity is desirable
- Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
- Exposure to at least two of the following skill sets: enterprise email solutions (e.g., Exchange, O365, G‑Suite, Lotus Domino, SMTP), vulnerability and risk management, security operations or incident response, DLP, compliance and data privacy, cloud security and shadow IT monitoring, cloud computing infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Consultative problem‑solving approach and a desire to pivot toward a sales direction
- Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, high‑energy environments while working independently and maintaining a positive attitude
- Hands‑on experience with Directory Services and protocols such as Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP, iDP (identity providers)
- Experience with email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Knowledge of networking and protocols such as DNS, LDAP, HTTP
- Experience with security standards and frameworks such as ISO, MITRE and/or NIST
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP or other relevant credentials
