Physical Security Department The Security Department for Vantage Data Centers is very hands-on. In most cases, we specify, purchase, configure and maintain all physical security networking, software, and server hardware. We also work closely with partner VARs to learn about the latest technology changes so that we can make informed purchase decisions. We are always looking for ways to strike the best balance between technology, performance, and cost.
Vantage Global Physical & Informational Security Department also participates in designing each of our new data center building’s security infrastructure. Position Overview The physical Security team is looking for a forward-thinking, results-oriented, innovative Manager, Physical Security with the ability to develop, execute and oversee data center (DC) security operations and programs, globally. As the Principal Manager, Physical Security, you will be expected to create and verify compliance with security procedures, training, standards, and policies, while optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of physical security at our facilities.
You will champion new initiatives for the physical security team and oversee planning processes and delegations across multiple business partner teams. You will contribute and help drive the development of long-term corporate strategy and goals. You will partner with the Design and Engineering Team, Site Operations, and Construction Managers.
Essential Job Functions Enforce Vantage Physical Security Global Procedures that encompass all aspects of Data centre Physical Security, including design, construction, testing, daily operation, and maintenance.
Implement a complete staffing plan that covers hiring, training, oversight, and compliance
Lead a multi-site team of Supervisors and Security Officers.
Manage all aspects of customer safety requirements across all campuses, including the Physical Security interface.
Desirable Job Experience / Qualifications Data Center or CNI Physical Security Operations experienceCSMP/CPP/PSP qualifications or the willingness to acquire
Duties
Manage Physical Security vendors for staffing, supervision, and oversight
Collaborate with internal and external teams for design and construction at each data center campus. Team with Operations to ensure compliance with all aspects of customer requirements.
Work with finance and construction to ensure continual cost efficiencies across multiple sites. You will develop and maintain metrics that track effectiveness and improvements in your department in the areas of builds and budgets (both O&M/Capex).Coordinate with Site Operations for all daily activities to ensure a safe and secure environment for employees and customers.
Create a training program for security staff, as well as internal employees and customers (as required).Examine all areas of department performance by working with the Performance Improvement/Optimization team.
Continually set increased performance goals by looking at industry best practices and creating an internal improvement program
Develop standards and a program for employee and contractor background checks and manage the program
Job Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field; 8 years of progressively responsible experience, in leading large, global security programs may be substituted in lieu of a degree
Proven leadership skills and strong business acumen
Physical security operations experience
Experience and knowledge of secure rooms, physical security requirements, CCTV, multi-factor authentication, and biometrics.
Experience & participation in applicable areas and related policies for safety and BCDRHands-on experience with background checks and badging requirements
Experience creating and implementing global standards for security
Must have a multi-disciplinary security background with knowledge in several areas including developing and implementing layered security architecture; risk and vulnerability assessments, compliance to implement information security related standards and initiatives
Working knowledge of system auditing concepts including regular reporting for compliance, the efficiency of security systems (Genetec, Service Now, cameras, door alarms, badge readers etc.)Must have strong organisation awareness and result oriented mindset to deliver prompt, efficient, quality service to our…
