Security Design Manager – London - £51,037 – £66,111 (Including flex fund) + Benefits
We are recruiting for a Security Design Manager to join a leading major design and construction project. You will provide specialist security expertise and assurance, ensuring designs meet the required technical, operational and security standards.
The Role
As Security Design Manager, you will act as the lead security interface between the client and supply chain, producing and assuring security design deliverables. You will provide Line of Defence (LOD) assurance, specialist advice and challenge throughout the design and delivery lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading security design assurance and providing subject matter expertise to project teams and the supply chain.
Supporting the implementation of HMG standards and guidance, including the DfT Security in the Design of Stations guidance.
Providing security design justification and assurance to Security Steering and Design Panels.
Providing security input into the project-wide Hazard Record, including threat analysis and compliance evidence.
Assessing plans, assessments and designs against relevant regulations, standards and engineering best practice.
Advising senior security and safety stakeholders on the acceptability and compliance of security designs.
Supporting testing, commissioning and assurance of completed built assets.
About You
You will have:
Strong knowledge of security design assurance principles and processes, ideally within a Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) environment.
Knowledge of physical security principles, standards and guidelines.
Experience with security systems, blast mitigation, hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) principles and products.
Experience assuring built assets through design, testing and commissioning.
Strong judgement in assessing compliance and the sufficiency of evidence against requirements.
Extensive stakeholder engagement experience, including the confidence to challenge senior external stakeholders.
A degree in Security, Engineering or a related subject, or equivalent relevant experience
