Multi Skilled Operative

Overview

MPS, part of Mears Group, is seeking 2 Multi Skilled Operatives to join Area 2 to support our ongoing partnership with Orbit. The role covers void properties, preparing houses for tenants, with involvement in larger projects (bathroom and kitchen fittings) as well as smaller reactive repairs and maintenance across a portfolio of properties. You will work from job to job on planned routes performing a wide range of general repairs and maintenance tasks.

Location:

Bexley, Sutton, Surrey Area.

Contract:

Full Time, Permanent.

Hours:

42.5 per week. Salary: up to £35,278.74 per annum, plus company van, fuel card, PPE and uniform.

We have over 25 years of experience caring for residents’ homes. We deliver reactive repairs, planned and cyclical maintenance to local authorities and housing providers nationwide.

• Work on Void properties to prepare homes for tenants and assist with larger trades on bathroom and kitchen fittings.

• Perform a range of general repairs and maintenance, moving from one job to another along planned routes.

• Deliver high standards of work and service while engaging with residents and colleagues.

• Extensive on-the-job experience in multiple core trades (joinery, plumbing, tiling, plastering, painting & decorating, floor laying - mainly Lino)
• Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
• Have own power tools
• Be a strong team player with the ability to work on your own initiative
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• IT literate for PDA use
• Ideally hold a trade qualification

Other requirements: All roles require entitlement to work in the UK. Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

Driver requirements: To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be over 21, have held your licence for more than 3 months, and have fewer than 9 points.
