Overview
Band 7 Social Worker responsible for leading social work practice within the Mental Health and Wellness Team South (MHWT South). The role focuses on providing person‑centred, strengths‑based and trauma‑informed support for service users with severe and enduring mental health needs while promoting best practice in integrated care.
Responsibilities- Provide professional leadership for social work practice, ensuring service users receive person‑centred, strengths‑based, trauma‑informed support.
- Carry a complex caseload and lead on safeguarding, risk management, mental capacity and social care interventions for adults with severe and enduring mental health needs.
- Support integrated working and promote best practice in care planning, discharge planning, safeguarding and social inclusion.
- Contribute to service development and improvement, including service redesign, project work, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
- Supervise staff and promote the social work perspective within the multidisciplinary team.
- Current registration with Social Work England as a qualified Social Worker with a commitment to maintaining professional standards and accountability.
- Demonstrable evidence of continuing professional development, including application of learning to practice, service improvement and professional development of others.
- Extensive experience of leading social work practice with service users presenting with complex mental health, social care, safeguarding and risk needs.
- Experience of contributing to service redesign, project work, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of basic salary (minimum £4,870 and maximum £6,137 per annum, pro‑rata for part‑time). This post also attracts a probationary period and standard NHS benefits.
