Are you an experienced SEND Officer with an Annual Review background looking to step into a fast-paced, highly impactful role where your expertise will directly support children and families? You will be joining a focused recovery team tasked with making a real difference, clearing backlog, improving timelines, and ensuring high-quality EHC plans are delivered. This role will primarily focus on Annual Reviews for young people in Year 9 and above (aged 13+), requiring a strong understanding of preparation for adulthood, post-16 pathways, and transition planning.

This is your chance to take ownership, work autonomously, and showcase your ability to manage complex caseloads while collaborating closely with schools and families.

Your role as a SEND Officer:
  • Produce high-quality EHC Plans and draft amendments efficiently (target of circa 10 per week).
  • Lead annual review casework for young people in Year 9 and above
, managing preparation for adulthood reviews and transition planning within a recovery/backlog team.
  • Manage a dedicated school locality
, acting as the key point of contact.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, families, and professionals.
  • Handle complex cases with confidence, ensuring compliance with legislation.
Your previous experience as a SEND Officer:
  • Proven track record of writing strong, compliant EHC Plans.
  • Extensive SEND Team experience within a local authority setting.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory processes.
  • Excellent communication skills when liaising with families and schools.
  • Positive references that reflect your quality and reliability.

You will initially focus on an Annual Review backlog, predominantly involving Year 9 and above cases (Age 13+), ensuring reviews are completed efficiently and that young people have clear, outcome-focused plans supporting their transition into further education, training, employment, and adulthood.
