What you'll be doing:

Each day will bring variety and purpose. You'll begin by reviewing referrals, prioritising cases, and planning your visits, from meeting residents in their homes to working alongside health and care professionals across the borough.

Your focus will be on assessing needs, creating person-centred care plans, and arranging the right services that enable choice, dignity, and independence. You'll ensure that every resident you support has a voice in decisions about their life.

Collaboration is key, you'll be working closely with NHS partners, voluntary sector teams, and other professionals to deliver joined-up care. You'll also contribute to safeguarding work, maintain clear records using digital systems, and stay current with legislation, local procedures, and best practice.

This is a supportive and team-based role. You'll attend regular supervision and development sessions, share learning with colleagues, and help shape how we continue to improve our services.

We're currently recruiting one full time permanent Social Worker role in our Adult South Complex Team. This role involves work on varied caseloads, including assessments, reviews and safeguarding work.

We are a Disability Confident Employer - committed to ensuring that our recruitment and selection process is inclusive and accessible.

You'll be a qualified and registered Social Worker with Social Work England, bringing experience from adult social care or a related area. You'll be confident in assessing needs, building rapport with residents and carers, and translating complex needs into clear support plans.

A strong understanding of key legislation, including the Care Act, NHS, Community Care Act and Mental Capacity Act is essential. But just as important are your values: empathy, respect, and a commitment to equity and inclusion in everything you do.

You have excellent communication and IT skills, be confident in your judgement, and bring a calm, curious approach when situations are challenging. Whether you're supporting someone with long-term care needs or navigating short-term health and supporting vulnerable adults through safeguarding concerns, you'll always work with professionalism, integrity, and care.

This role will require an Enhanced Adults and Children's Barred List DBS check.

You will be based in the Borough for 3 days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you're working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you'll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents' lives.

Kensington and Chelsea is home to diverse communities, thriving businesses and unique local places. Everything we do is focused on supporting our residents, strengthening our approach and creating a fairer borough.

As a competent and caring Council, we take pride in our work every day, ensuring our services are delivered with care and competence. We listen to our residents, act with integrity and work together to build a borough that is greener, safer and fairer for all.

In this role, you'll get stuck into the real work of adult social care, balancing client facing work with administrative tasks. Your day-to-day decisions and long-term planning will contribute to a fairer borough, where residents feel heard, supported, and empowered to live their best lives.

New hires will normally start at the minimum of the pay scale. However, a higher starting salary may be negotiated where a candidate demonstrates exceptional skills, knowledge, or experience.

Employees receive annual salary increments until they reach the top of the pay scale, as well as any agreed cost of living pay awards.
