Are you passionate about supporting women affected by domestic abuse?

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Domestic Abuse Caseworker / IDVA Caseworker to join a specialist service on an initial 2-month temporary contract.

This role is ideal for someone with previous experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse. You do not need to be a qualified IDVA; however, candidates with an IDVA qualification and significant relevant experience may be considered at a higher pay rate.

The role

You will provide practical and emotional support to women affected by domestic abuse and other forms of VAWG. Responsibilities may include:

  • Managing a caseload of service users affected by domestic abuse

  • Providing one-to-one, trauma-informed support

  • Carrying out risk assessments and developing safety plans

  • Supporting clients with housing, benefits, immigration, legal matters and other complex needs

  • Making referrals to relevant specialist and statutory services

  • Working closely with external agencies including police, social services, housing and health professionals

  • Supporting safeguarding and risk management processes

  • Maintaining accurate case notes and records

  • Promoting safety, independence, recovery and empowerment

The role will involve supporting women with a range of complex needs and requires a strong understanding of the impact and dynamics of domestic abuse.

Requirements
  • Previous experience working with survivors of domestic abuse or within a relevant VAWG service

  • Experience in casework, advocacy, refuge, outreach or similar support services

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and risk management

  • Ability to manage a caseload and work independently

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to speak at least one of the following languages:

    • Bengali

    • Farsi

    • Arabic

    • Urdu

    • Hindi

    • Gujarati

  • Enhanced DBS and full compliance documents ready to go

  • Available to start on 7th September
