We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience of working with vulnerable adults in health, housing, social care, mental health, or community settings.
• An understanding of hoarding behaviours, self-neglect, safeguarding, and risk management.
• Excellent communication and engagement skills.
• The ability to work creatively and persistently with individuals who may be resistant to support.
• Strong partnership-working skills and the ability to work within a multi-agency environment.
• Good record-keeping and organisational skills.
• A commitment to strengths-based, person-centred practice.

Support Worker work within the Mental Health Social Care service as part of a small hoarding sub-team providing direct support to residents and families affected by hoarding disorder, enabling them to address the harmful impact of hoarding and to live more safely in the community

To provide support to adults affected by hoarding disorder with a history of trauma enabling them to take control of their environments, to exercise choice and to live as independently as possible and to achieve their wellbeing goals and outcomes.

To provide hands‑on assistance to residents with plans to declutter and progress arrangements for clearing homes, helping people to help themselves where possible by using a strength‑based approach.

We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and highly motivated Hoarding Support Worker to join our Adult Social Care service. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with adults experiencing hoarding behaviours, self-neglect, social isolation, and complex environmental challenges.

The successful candidate will support individuals to improve their living conditions, reduce risks, maximise independence, and achieve outcomes that matter to them through a strengths‑based and person‑centred approach. Effective engagement and trust‑building are recognised as critical to achieving positive outcomes for people who hoard and self‑neglect.

The job is primarily based in Laurence House 1 Catford Road SE6 4RU
, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

• The job is subject to an enhanced DBS check

£33,384 to £34,488 per annum SC SC4.

All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
