Role Description

You will turn new Play Station SDKs and platform features into developer‑ready integrations for Unreal Engine. This role sits inside the Game Integration Team and focuses on plugin/feature integration, PoC, performance validation, and partner rollout—ensuring what we ship is valuable in real production, horizontally reusable, and maintainable.

Mission Highlights
  • Deliver “developer value” via robust UE integrations, samples, and guidelines.
  • Shorten adoption lead‑time; avoid one‑off customizations and technical debt.
  • Build a feedback loop from real‑world usage to SDK/PM for spec and roadmap improvements.
What you’ll be doing
  • UE integration:
Develop and maintain UE (UE5) plugins/modules for Play Station SDK features; wire‑up build/CI, configuration, and diagnostics.
  • PoC & validation:
Design test plans (scenarios, metrics, pass/fail), run performance & stability investigations (rendering/IO/systems), and publish results.
  • Samples & docs:
Create runnable samples, quick‑starts, solving guides, and internal/external how‑to content.
  • Partner rollout:
Support studios during evaluation and integration; gather feedback; drive horizontalisation (templates, checklists, automation).
  • Feedback & prioritisation:
Channel developer insights into SDK/feature specs; influence priorities with data from PoC and field usage.
  • Enablement:
Deliver workshops/office hours; present findings internally and to partners; mentor peers.
What you’ll learn
  • Deep knowledge of Play Station platforms, SDKs, and modern engine pipelines.
  • Insight into leading studios’ production workflows and performance engineering practices.
  • How platform features evolve from spec to shipped, and how to land them successfully with developers.
What we’re looking for Required Skills/experience
  • Strong C++ and Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5) development; practical plugin/module experience.
  • Shipped on console (ideally PS5) or large‑scale game/engine/tooling experience.
  • Strength in one or more: rendering, systems/IO, performance analysis.
  • Ability to design and implement validation plans; interpret GPU/CPU profiles; drive fixes.
  • Proven documentation & sample creation; clear technical communication in English.
Highly advantageous
  • Experience with Play Station SDK/API, TRC, Network features.
  • Multi‑platform abstraction; conditional compilation & adapter patterns for engine integration.
  • Automated build/test/perf pipelines; crash/telemetry analysis at scale.
  • UE rendering graph/post‑process/up samplers, streaming, memory management know‑how.
  • Public speaking/enablement (workshops, conferences, webinars);
    Japanese language ability.
Estimated work time distribution
  • 60% Hands‑on integration, debugging, performance validation, and sample development.
  • 20% Partner support, investigations, and documentation.
  • 15% R&D / PoC experiments and internal collaboration.
  • 5% Team rituals and operational tasks.
Working style & benefits
  • Hybrid work with flexible hours; emphasis on sustainable schedules and work/life balance.
Benefits
  • Discretionary bonus opportunity
  • Hybrid Working (within Flexmodes)
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Dental Scheme
  • 25 days holiday per year
