Our client, a highly respected UK wealth management organisation, is looking for a talented Application Engineer with strong Java and/or Python development experience to join its technology team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys delivering scalable business-critical applications, working closely with stakeholders and leveraging technology to enhance adviser and client experiences within a wealth management environment.
The RoleYou’ll play a key role in designing, building and enhancing applications and integrations that support the firm's investment and wealth management services. Working in an Agile environment, you’ll collaborate with analysts, engineers and product teams to deliver robust solutions that drive business value.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, enhance and support applications using Java and/or Python
- Design and implement integrations across core business platforms
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Support application deployments and production releases
- Work closely with business stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
- Collaborate with data engineering and product teams on strategic initiatives
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement activities
- Strong commercial experience with Java and/or Python development
- Experience developing enterprise applications and integrations
- Background working within wealth management, investment management, private banking or financial services
- Understanding of software engineering best practices and Agile methodologies
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management experience
- Exposure to IRESS Xplan
, Xmerge or adviser platforms - Experience with Snowflake, Power BI or Alteryx
- Knowledge of wealth management operating models and advice processes
- JavaScript development experience
- CI/CD and Dev Ops exposure
