About Formula E
Formula E, the world's fastest-growing sport, is redefining motor sport with a bold focus on innovation and sustainability.
Hosting over 100 races in iconic cities globally and backed by top manufacturers like Porsche and Jaguar, we feature elite drivers and cutting-edge EV technology. Its GEN3 EVO race car achieves 0-60mph in 1.82 seconds (0-100kph in 1.86s). Formula E is the world's first sport certified Net Zero Carbon from inception, combining thrilling entertainment with a mission to advance sustainable progress.
The RoleWe are looking for an AI Enablement Engineer to join the Formula E team. This is a mission-critical position where you will serve as the primary architect bridging the gap between raw data systems and user-facing requirements, ensuring internal teams have the cutting-edge AI tools they need.
You will be the vital bridge between advanced technical capabilities and non-technical business departments, balancing meticulous cloud governance and security with high-velocity prototyping.
- Custom Agent & App Engineering: Own the application lifecycle, work with cross-functional teams to map business logic, prototype solutions and build functional web applications, software agents and automated technical workflows using Python. Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines and integrate LLM environments like Vertex AI with internal databases.
- Secure Sandboxing & GCP Compliance: Maintain secure Google Cloud Platform sandbox environments, managing IAM permissions and enforcing least-privilege access controls to keep tools and AI deployments secure, cost-monitored and aligned with cybersecurity and data compliance policies.
- Product ionising & Technical Handover: Turn early-stage ideas into robust, production-grade architectures. Partner with Data and AI teams, PMs and BAs, maintain code repositories, API schemas and technical documentation to scale the internal AI ecosystem.
- The Python & Cloud Craftsman: 2–3 years of hands‑on software development with clean, production-grade Python. Experience building and deploying web applications and configuring APIs within public cloud infrastructure, specifically GCP including Vertex AI, Cloud Functions and Big Query.
- The Generative AI Architect: Strong understanding of modern LLM frameworks, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Big Query Vector Search) and RAG pipeline architectures. Ability to integrate advanced AI models into user-facing tools that solve operational bottlenecks.
- The Technical Translator: Collaborative builder able to translate manual workflows and non-technical business needs into structured technical requirements and code. Provide technical consultation on model selection, feasibility and design.
- The Detail & Safety Oriented Professional: Self-starting and problem-solver, obsessive about maintaining system security, data privacy and cost guardrails in a fast-paced environment.
