Salary: Up to £80,000 + Benefits + Bonus
Location: Newcastle, London, Leeds, Manchester, Blackpool or Sheffield
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
A globally recognised organisation is looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer to help design, develop and deliver secure, scalable digital solutions across major public sector transformation programmes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands on software engineer with strong Python development experience to work on enterprise scale applications using AWS, modern Dev Ops practices and cloud native technologies. Working within Agile delivery teams, the Senior Software Developer will help build high quality digital services while influencing engineering standards and mentoring other developers.
Responsibilities- Design, develop and maintain scalable Python based applications and services.
- Build secure RESTful APIs and integration solutions supporting enterprise platforms.
- Develop cloud native applications using AWS and modern engineering practices.
- Work closely with Dev Ops engineers to deliver automated, reliable deployments.
- Ensure high standards of software quality through testing, code reviews and engineering best practice.
- Design and implement microservices and event driven solutions.
- Support production systems, improving performance, resilience and reliability.
- Mentor developers and provide technical leadership across engineering teams.
- Contribute to Agile planning, technical design and solution delivery.
- Produce high quality technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong commercial experience developing applications using Python.
- Hands on experience building and consuming REST APIs.
- Experience using REST Assured for API testing and automation.
- Commercial experience working with AWS.
- Strong understanding of Dev Ops practices and modern software delivery.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience developing scalable, secure enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing and code quality.
- Experience mentoring developers and supporting technical delivery.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Experience with Azure cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of microservices and event driven architectures.
- Experience working within UK Public Sector environments.
- Exposure to AI or Machine Learning technologies.
