Backend Developer (Python)

£550-650 per day (Inside IR35)

My client, a tier 1 bank, looking for an experienced Backend Developer to join a high-performing engineering team within a global financial services environment. The role focuses on building, modernising and supporting highly distributed, business-critical backend systems.
Key Requirements- Strong Python backend development
- Advanced SQL / database development
- Microservices and event-driven architecture
- Kafka and/or Tibco
- TDD and automated testing
- Kubernetes and/or Open Shift
- Prometheus, Grafana or similar
- Production support and troubleshooting
- Agile delivery experience
- Financial Services / Capital Markets experience
- CI/CD and Dev Ops
- Legacy system modernisation
- Experience supporting critical production platforms
We're looking for a hands-on engineer with strong problem-solving skills and a focus on code quality, testing and system reliability.
