About the RoleWe are currently seeking an experienced Transport Manager in the Luton area. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing fleet operations, driver performance, compliance, and route planning, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our transport services.
Key Responsibilities Fleet Management- Oversee vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure road worthiness
- Monitor vehicle usage, fuel efficiency, and implement cost-saving measures
- Ensure driver qualifications and training records are up-to-date
- Monitor driver hours and compliance with working time regulations
- Address driver performance issues and concerns
- Ensure adherence to all transport laws, road safety, environmental, and customs regulations
- Maintain operator licenses and required documentation
- Stay updated on changes to legislation and industry best practices
- Plan efficient delivery routes to minimise costs and delivery times
- Coordinate with customers to meet delivery schedules
- Address disruptions to delivery schedules promptly
- Investigate road traffic accidents involving company vehicles
- Implement preventative measures to reduce future incidents
- Produce regular performance reports on fleet operations, costs, and compliance
- Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes
- A valid Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- In‑depth knowledge of UK transport regulations and legislation
- Proven experience in fleet management and logistics
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions
- Up to £55,000 salary
