Japanese Food Company Operation Coordinator

Location:

South London onsite only

Salary: up to 32K GBP

Working hours:

11:00-20:00

Responsibilities include:
  • Route planning on a daily and regularly scheduled basis, for a fleet of approximately 20 vehicles delivering around 200+ orders per day
  • Optimising route efficiency by analysing destinations, vehicle weights, driver hours, and customer requirements
  • Paying due attention to speed limits, achievable schedules, and/or journey times
  • Organising alternate delivery arrangements where needed, for example by third-party transport partners or minicabs
  • Communicating routes to drivers and giving special delivery instructions as needed
  • General support working closely with the operations team covering Compliance, Driver debrief, dealing with customer queries and discrepancies
  • Performing any other reasonable management requests as needed
  • Support the Operations team with compliance activities, driver debriefs, and resolution of customer queries or delivery discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate operational records and documentation in line with company procedures and audit requirements
  • Work collaboratively with Fish Production teams and warehouse to ensure alignment with transport and operational plans
  • Interact with colleagues, drivers, customers, and partners at all times in a courteous and professional manner
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties or management requests in line with the needs of the business
Skills and Qualifications
  • Prior experience in transport route planning preferable but not essential
  • Good knowledge of UK geography and roads
  • Understanding of HGV/van operations and legislation preferable (OLAT or similar)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Can work cohesively within an existing and growing team
  • Can learn new processes efficiently and follow procedures thoroughly
  • Good phone manner, good interpersonal skills
  • Flexible and adaptable approach
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience of Delivery Routing System such as Paragon is a big advantage
